Lord, remember us in your kingdom and teach us to pray…

Daniel 4:1-3
4 King Nebuchadnezzar to all peoples, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you! 2 It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has done for me. 3 How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures from generation to generation.
In the name of the Father and the +Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. In the most unexpected places the praise of our God is announced. Nebuchadnezzar confesses the living God. He was God’s instrument for discipline and destruction. He was the megaphone to announce God’s presence with his people. Still, in the most unexpected places and the most unexpected people, God is dwelling. He does the impossible. He turns the hearts of sinners to himself and forgives our sins by the blood of his only Son. Jesus takes away the guilt, the shame, the power of sin by his cross. How great are his signs, how might his wonders! Thanks be to God for his visitation among us! In the name of +Jesus. Amen.
You may utilize the Order of Daily Prayer for Individuals and Families (pages 295-298) in Lutheran Service Book for your family prayers.
The Collect of the Day:
We implore You, almighty God, merciful Father, look upon Your people that by Your great goodness they may be governed and preserved evermore in body and soul; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
