Luke 10:38-42
38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
In the name of the Father and the ᛭ Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. It is our sinful nature that asks Jesus if he doesn’t care about us or our situation. Our enemies lie in order to cast doubt on Jesus’ love for us. We allow the devil to convince us that our sins are too great for him to care about us. We allow the world to place seemingly insurmountable situations before us. We entertain these distractions in our heart and miss that Jesus went to the cross for us. One thing needful has been won for you and me. It is the eternal victory over the devil, the world, and the sinful nature. It is life eternal with Jesus. This is the Jesus that loves you so much that he even comes again with his Word and beckons us sit at his feet and listen. In the listening, in the hearing, we are forgiven. In the name of ᛭ Jesus. Amen.

Amen.
