Luke 12:4-7
4 “I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him! 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
In the name of the Father and the ᛭ Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. This is the God to fear. He has the power to destroy both the body and the soul in hell. The devil and world only have limited scope. But this is also the God that loves you. He is the one that fights for you. He is the one that even knows how many hairs are on your head. He sent his Son to the cross to destroy the devil and the world and your sinful nature. They didn’t fear him, they were wrong. They should have run, they didn’t. They were destroyed by the might of his death and his resurrection. He wants you to live with him forever. He rejoices in you always. In the name of ᛭ Jesus. Amen.
